May 18 LAST DAYS......

Monday:

  • All students were given grades for last projects. (one period did not get them)
  • Benchmark test reviewed.

SCHEDULE  FOR WEEK

Tuesday: Language Arts Games- Students may bring games to share. Must be language based

Wednesday: Share and Take Book Exchange- Bring  book to trade. Must be wrapped or in bag so that the title does not show.
Bring book to read, we will go outside to relax and read.

Thursday:  Creative Game Day: Kids are asked to bring in one of the following items in unwrapped packages to use for games: Bubble gum, suckers, balloons and saltine crackers

  • Bubble Gum Contest- all gum will be thrown out before leaving the room!
  • Whistling contest-  Saltine crackers will make this not so easy

Friday: Yearbook signing and Homeroom movie and party.

Have a  GREAT SUMMER and I will see you next year!

We will have class Monday-Wednesday in the Instructional Lab to allow students to complete assignments due this week:

Monday/ Cover page for folder: use quotes and decorate

Wednesday/ 3 Reflections about quotes. Must be final copy. I will be looking at:

  • organization
  • ideas
  • voice
  • sentence fluency
  • word choice
  • conventions
  • presentation

Thursday is Field Day/ we will not have class

Friday : Brochure or  Multimedia presentation due.

NJHS End of Year

Next Meeting is Tuesday, May 12

  • We will make Sandwiches to be distributed to Elizabeth Inn, which is the outreach center for MUST ministaries. We are purchasing the supplies and will make the sandwiches in the morning. Members can earn community service hours for making the sandwiches and also for bringing a sweet or salty item individually wrapped to add to the lunch.
  • It was decided at the last meeting that we would make the following purchases or donations:
  1. Supplies for sandwiches: This may be from $50 - $75.
  2. We will donate the remainder of 1/2 of the  profit from our lollipop sales to the MUST Summer Lunch program.
  3. Pins or Charms for the outgoing Eighth  Graders will be purchased to be distributed at the end of the year party on May 19.
  4. Sponsers will purchase paper products and drinks for the end of the year party. Members are asked to bring a snack item to share.

May 19 Agenda:

  • Social time for eating and talking
  • Discuss plans for next year.
  • Nominations for officers will be discussed and appointment of Steering Committee members. Steering Committee members will meet before we have a general meeting to discuss calendar, activities , standards and induction requirements, and invitations for new Seventh Grade prospective members.

NJHS Meetings May 12 and May 19

We will meet Tuesday, May 12 to make sandwiches for MUST ministries. If you would like to earn additional hours, you may bring sweets or salty snacks that you have made. No Warm Up Writing: Progress reports were reviewed. Students may resubmit some assignments, and if they are missing classwork, a deduction is taken for late work, but credit is still given.
