May 1st...

Today students were given a study guide for their Evolution test. (Due Tomorrow)

The test is now scheduled for Monday... there are loads of other tests scheduled for Tuesday.

May 16th will be the final...

I also passed out progress reports today ( I was not at school yesterday.)

Tuesday we are watching a video on Evolution and are going over the workbook answers.

We will not have a test on Evolution until after the CRCT.

Wed-Friday, we will concentrate on reviewing for the CRCT.

Today, we went over Meiosis. They were given two handouts. On one, we went over Meiosis, and labeled an example. The second handout, most students will need to complete for homework. They do not need to complete the fractions on the bottom, this will be done in class tomorrow.

The test is postponed until after Spring Break.

Today we read our DEAR books and went over the answers to the SpongeBob sheets. They need to finish the rest of these for homework.

Today Students created a Faces based on the set genes from a Mother and a Father.

The were given two more SpongeBob worksheets. They need to complete the one on InComplete Dominance tonight for homework.

There will be another study session tomorrow afternoon for those who were not able to make it today.

The test on this information will be the Friday before Spring Break.

Today We talked about Genetics by using the example of Harry Potter.

Students were given time in class to finish both Bikini Bottom Genetics worksheets.

I will have a study session tomorrow afternoon for students who are struggling with this concept (I have a faculty meeting tomorrow morning, so this session is canceled).

I will have a makeup session for students who missed a quiz or the animal (jars) identification.

Students took a quiz today on the animal kingdom.  The grades are posted on I-parent.

They also turned in their study guide charts and questions 1-3 page 326 in the book.

We started going into genetics.

I gave the students a packet today.  Of the packet, the first four pages (131-134) and the front side of the last page (Bikini Bottom Genetics) is for homework tonight.

The students will find the book is a great resource for this information.  Chapter 3.  Additionally, I am opening the comments.

Genetics is a subject where students do more than listening... kinda like math.  They will have more homework than normal over the next couple of weeks.

Today, students used a taxonomic key, their notes, and prior knowledge to classify 39 animals. (Grades will be posted today)

They were assigned two Charts for their Review Guide. This needs to be finished by Monday (the day of the quiz)
