Classes are wrapping up Act I of the play. Those classes that did finish it today need to turn in the question/answer sheet tomorrow.
All classes finished watching Anne Frank Remembered. Questions on the film are due tomorrow and we begin reading/acting out the play on the diary. On Monday, all student in 3rd,6th, and 7th periods have to turn in a writing response on the film.
We continued CRCT review. Lessons are covering grammar, mechanics, writing, literary terms, reference skills, etc. This same format will continue until the language arts test next Wednesday. Whew!
We concluded the unit on verbals yesterday with a test. Scores that will be on I-parent by the end of the day.
All classes worked on participle poems. Students were to write a minimum of 8 lines, each beginning with a participle/participial phrase. The poems were to begin with a metaphor where students compared themselves with an object, animal, idea, etc., and then include the poem in a representation of their topic. For example, a student who wrote "I Am a Butterfly" may have printed their poem on a picture of a butterfly. Those who did not finish in class, may finish over the week end. They are due on Monday.
Students have been working with participles and participial phrases. They are also using participial phrases to join simple sentences. All classes should expect a quiz tomorrow on these skills.
All students will take a test on pronouns on Wednesday. Review continues tomorrow. There will be a study session at 8:15 for anyone interested.
Agenda:
ALL STUDENTS ATTENDING LASSITER SHOULD HAVE THEIR REGISTRATIONS ALREADY TURNED IN!
All classes continue work on pronouns.
