4/14-4/17 ALL CLASSES

We continued CRCT review.  Lessons are covering grammar, mechanics, writing, literary terms, reference skills, etc.  This same format will continue until the language arts test next Wednesday.  Whew!

After the test, we begin our last unit for the year, Anne Frank and the Holocaust.

REMINDERS FOR THE CRCT TESTING DAYS:
1.  no mechanical pencils allowed
2.  no food or drink allowed until AFTER the test booklets have been turned in
3.  only silent reading will be allowed for students finishing a section before the allotted time
4.  Remember:  These tests must be taken in order to attend high school.  If you miss them and the make-up days, you will have to take them in the summer.  UGH!  Take them now!
5.  Those students who tend to make it late to home room, try to be on time.  Once the testing begins, you will not be allowed to enter the room, and you will have to wait outside.  What test you miss will have to be made up the following week.  BE ON TIME!
6.  MAKE SURE TO GET A GOOD NIGHT'S SLEEP AND EAT BREAKFAST.

HAVE A TERRIFIC SPRING BREAK!

March 27, 2009

3/27 ALL CLASSES

All classes worked on participle poems.  Students were to write a minimum of 8 lines, each beginning with a participle/participial phrase.  The poems were to begin with a metaphor where students compared themselves with an object, animal, idea, etc., and then include the poem in  a representation of their topic.  For example, a student who wrote "I Am a Butterfly" may have printed their poem on a picture of a butterfly.  Those who did not finish in class, may finish over the week end.  They are due on Monday.
