5/5 ALL CLASSES

All students received their summer reading lists and assignments from Lassiter High School. All lists were read and explained to students. Should these be lost during the summer months, remember, they are available on the Lassiter web page. Students are going to have to plan their time to make sure that all assignments are completed on time. These are all lengthy. Have fun!


We continue to act out the play version of "The Diary of Anne Frank". If you were absent, make sure to read the pages we completed today:

1st hour: to pg. 731
2nd hour: to p. 732
3rd hour: to pg. 731
6th hour: to pg. 733
7th hour: tp pg. 733

The written assignment on the back of your notes sheet is due this Wednesday. Write your response right on that sheet.

Comprehension questions for ACT I should be completed by Wed., as well.


Our Sixceed books have been professionally printed and they are beautiful!!!!!! We are so very proud of the terrific work all of our students accoplished.

Happy Friday!

Three down and 2 to go! Hopefully everyone can re-energize over the weekend and be ready to tackle the last 2 CRCT's next week.


We continue to watch Anne Frank Remembered,an academy award winning documentary, as a foundation for The Diary of Anne Frank. Students are taking notes that will help later with written assignments, quizzes, and tests.


Enjoy the weekend...no homework.

4/24 ALL CLASSES

FOR A FEW DAYS, I HAVE BEEN UNABLE TO COMPLETE MY BLOG BECAUSE OF TECHNICAL REASONS.
Hopefully, I we'll experience smooth sailing from now on!


We dedicated the time after spring break for CRCT review, and today we took our language arts CRCT. This means that we are embarking on our last unit for the year! :)

ACLA 6- April 2

Students just completed their novel unit on The Wave, and will begin reviewing for the CRCT. They will review direct and indirect objects, predicate nominative and adjectives, adverbs, adjectives, adverb and adjective clauses, misplaced modifiers, phrases and clauses, and nouns. Students are encouraged to keep up with their homework, and review their grammar notes over the break.

We are still reviewing for the CRCT! Testing begins on Wednesday, April 23rd! This week, students are reviewing adverbs, adjectives, adverb and adjective clauses, misplaced modifiers, phrases and clauses, and nouns. Students are encouraged to keep up with their homework, and review their grammar notes over the break.

For homework, students have 2 worksheets to complete. One is labeled "common and proper nouns." The other is labeled "singular and plural nouns." Complete both sides of the singular/plural nouns worksheet.

Stay focused on the CRCT review, and keep up the good work!!!

Review for CRCT's has begun. Today and tomorrow we will be covering transitive/intransitive verbs, DO's/IO's, PA's/PN's, and prepositions and prepositional phrases.

ALCA 3/19

We just finished our pronoun unit, and all groups produced outstanding and creative presentations!! We were so pleased with the amount of effort put into these projects!! :)
Students are continuing to read "The Wave," by Todd Strasser.

3/14

The "Sixceed" project is almost completed. Many of our student groups have actually finished and all have produced exemplary products. The final results will be printed as books, as well as added to the Mabry blog later in the future. We will make sure to advise all parents when this takes place. In addition, there is one group that is producing an I-movie to go along with the book.


The final part of the technical writing unit has the students write an individual piece. To read a copy of the assignment, click below.

ACLA 6- March 10

Groups are presenting their pronoun projects today!! Students worked productively all week and have formed some wonderful presentations! We should begin reading The Wave tomorrow. Good Work!

At this point, we are well into the "Sixceed" project. Students are working diligently, taking wonderful pictures and interviewing with teachers! Students will be working with their groups on this project for the remainder of the week! So far so good!!
