I have been working furiously to post grades. Please bear with me a little longer; they shall be done soon. The student's projects on Environmental Issues, an open notes quiz on the history of Africa,and an open notes quiz on the impact of colonialism Africa are the grades to be posted.

Students were given class time to take Cornell notes over pages 507-511. They are to answer #3 a,b,c and #4. Due Thursday. Wednesday is the 7th and 8th grade writing test and in the afternoon we will be goal setting for the end of the year.

African Cultures and Empires

Students have been reading and taking Cornell Notes over the following pages: pg.502-506, 536-537, and 545-548( stop after the Zulu's). Student's should be able to locate and explain the importance of : the Bantu migration, Mansa Musa, the Ghana Empire, the Mali Empire, the Songhai Empire, Great Zimbabwe, the Masai, and Zulu.
We will review with a ppt. on Wednesday for 1,2 per. and Thursday for 6,7 per.
Friday schedule will return to normal and the children may use their notes for a Quiz.

2010 New Year, New Habits.

We started out today with sharing the student's projects on environmental issues. We will finish sharing tomorrow and grading. Students in 2,6,7period received their review sheet for the Benchmark test Friday. I have asked the students to at least complete # 1 - 12 for tonite and 13 - 21 on Wednesday . We will review these in class on Thursday. They will need to use their textbook for the answers.Download Benchmark2 review

We will be moving very quickly through the rest of Africa and need to make every day count. So stay well.
