• Read a challenging chapter book for 30 minutes.

Warm Up

Using Ladders to Success Level G students will complete pg. 86 and 87 to work see how well they understand inferences and drawing conclusions. This assignment was collected for a grade.

 

Activities

Working in their table groups, students will read a “Solve-It” mystery 5 Minute Mystery and complete a story map handout for the text they just read. Students will retell their story to the class

Students will go to the media center to learn information about mysteries.  Students will receive a  Mystery Genre Newsletter . At this time students will check out a mystery book at their lexile level.

Using their grade sheet, students will grade their project.  Quote Chart,   Memory Book Grade Sheet    Evaluation for Nonfiction Book  . This project will be due on 2/17 at the book chat.
