Week of March 23 - 27

Social Studies :

This week we will be finishing  Chapter 22 over Southeast Asia with a
Test on Friday .
Please be review vocabulary,names,and major causes of events and changes with this region.
Remember  the map from last Tuesday - Countries & Capitals of Southeast Asia
Our will be our Map Quiz   will be March 31 -  Be Studying !


Literacy:
We will have a Quiz over R.E.V. vocabulary words on Friday.
Second Step - Character Education Lesson 11 B over Drug Awareness.
Economic Literacy - Chapter 2 - The Four Economic Systems - & 
                                                Three Basic Questions of Economics
                                                 
We are very glad to have a Kennesaw State T.O.S.S. student - Mr. Tobis Susin   working with us for a few weeks . 
He has already taught some great lessons and is developing a good rapport  with the students. 

I apologize for the technical difficulties with the blog. I hope the everything has been ironed out.The students have been ask from the beginning of the year to write the assignments in their agendas. This is help them be aware of expectation during class and building time management & organizational skills.

March 2- 6 2009

Dear Students and parents : 


I apologize for the  long delay on beginning again. Technical difficulties over my head. Thanks to smarter people we back again. 

This week most of us will be going on our great trip to Jekyll Island. A big thanks to the Science teacher who worked many extra hours to put it together for us and the teachers who worked on the organization for the week. We have a great Seventh Grade team ! This trip would not be possible if we did not have the support of the Administrative team -Mrs.Heflin , Mr. Connely ,and Mrs. Pettitt. 
  
   I hope everyone goes to bed early Sunday & Tuesday Nights.Big Days ahead. 
Social Studies :
The last two weeks we have be working on Chapter 21 about India and its neighbors. We have discussed histories, governments, and economies of the region . After we return from our Jekyll Trip we will finish this chapter and have a test by the end of next week .  

Literacy :
We will be finishing our Economics Unit up soon and will have out last few Second Step lessons before the end of the quarter.

Welcome to Africa !

This week we are delving in to the physical geography of the continent and using the CIA.gov website to help us research the economics factors affect the people of several of the countries of Africa .

www.cia.gov is a great site for countries around the world.

Literacy Class :

Super Job on the last vocabulry test 18 A's
Second Step - We are working on our Bullying unit and our poster are do on Friday - I hope one of ours wins .
Economics - we are studying the Free Enterprise system - with supply & demand helping make decisions .

Social Studies :This week we will be finishing up our unit on the Middle East with conclusion of governments of the region and the effect of water scarcity . We will have the the Social Studies benchmarks
test on Friday.

This week in Social Studies :
First - Reminder map quiz of N. Africa & the Middle East on Friday -
How well did you do on the practice quiz ?
We will be looking at the origins and effects of the three major religions founded in this region of the world.
We will utilize the text and other materials in class. This will help us to understand the different cultures and how this part of the world has been shaped by it .

Welcome Back !


We are all very excited to see the new Seventh Graders this fall and we have heard many great things about them. We are looking forward to a Super year in 2008- 2009 .

This year we will begin with a unit on the Presidential election and the process of how we select our next leader.

Then we will start our study out North Africa and the Middle East.

Please remember that you will need a three ring binder with dividers /tabs because we will put almost all of your work in it for organization and safe keeping. Also bring in a book cover to protect your new book.

If you have not purchased a agenda yet do so as soon as possible ( $5.00 at the school store)

The work we are doing in class / homework and future test, quizes and projects will be posted here- check it regularly.

This week you will be receiving your syllabus please read over it and you and our parents should sign it and return it in your binder.
