LUNCH PRICES FOR THE 2011-2012 SCHOOL YEAR

Welcome to Mabry Café! As the school’s Cafeteria Manager, I am excited to invite your child(ren) and youself to a Delicious, Nutritious and Convenient lunch every day!

All lunches provided follow and meet the Dietary Guidelines for Americans & the Recommended Dietary Allowances. For Menu's and Nutritional Information please visit the Cobb County Food & Nutrition website .

We offer…

• Whole-grain bread and pasta products
• Fresh fruits and vegetables daily. Produce grown in Georgia!
• Name brand food you may also purchase at home, like Sara Lee, Mott’s, Del Monte, Hunt’s, Pillsbury and Pilgrim Pride to name a few!
• Skim and low-fat milk daily
• Portions appropriate for Middle School students
• Juice drinks fortified with Calcium and Vitamin C at lunch
• Each Entrée, side dish, milk and juice drink are also available for Ala Carte purchases
• Extra Entree: $1.60, Extra Side Dish: $0.60, Milk or Juice $0.50
• Students may also choose from a variety of other items:
• Bottled Drinks: $1.00 (Minute Maid Apple & Orange Juice, Switch 100% Carbonated Juice, Dasani Water)
  Snack Size Chips: $0.75
  Low-fat Muffins: $0.75
  Ice Cream: $0.75
  Variety of Cookies: $0.50
• And you can rest assured that the staff at Mabry Café is committed to keeping food safe for our customers. Monitoring systems for food and equipment are in place and the staff is regularly trained in the safe receiving, storage and serving of food. Additionally, we receive two health inspections each year. Please check our scores on the Cobb County Food & Nutrition Website.

Where else can you go to eat for $1.80 ($2.75 for an adult) and get an Entrée, side dish, fruit and a drink???!!!

End Of Year Lunch Charges Policy

All students must have enough money on their account to pay for their lunch. No charging for meals will be allowed the last two (2) weeks of school per Cobb County School District policy. If your child arrives at school without money, the student will be provided the alternative meal for lunch (cheese sandwich and milk).

Please make sure your child's account is paid in full by the end of the school year. If your child has a balance on their account at the end of the year, this money stays on their account and will be there for them the following school year. If you child will be advancing to another school in the Cobb County District, this money stays on their account and will be there for them the following school year.

If your child will be leaving Cobb County School District and has money left on their account, please email me at Melanie.Bochert@cobbk12.org and I will send the correct form to your child for reimbursement.

Paying For School Lunches; Cobb County Charge Policy

Please make sure your child has money for lunch every day (you can view your school’s lunch menu on the Cobb County School District web page). You can make payments several ways.

PRE-PAY for Meals
You can prepay for meals with a major credit card by telephone or through the internet with MealpayPlus.

Please note that when MealpayPlus asks for a pin number, the student ID number and the pin number are the same number (often referred to as library number in elementary school). Your child's account balance, meal purchases and payment history can be viewed on the internet, and even be notified by email when the account balance is low, by registering online with MealpayPlus. You do not have to make prepayments to use this feature. You may also call or email the school’s Café Manager, Melanie Bochert at (770) 928-5547 or Melanie.Bochert@cobbk12.org.

You may also pay into an account for your child with cash or check sent to the school. If paying with cash, put it in a sealed envelope with your Child’s first and last name on it. Also, please write the teacher's name and grade on the outside of the envelope. When paying by check, make checks payable to Mabry Café; write your child's (first and last) name and teacher's name on the check. If you know your student's Cobb County ID number, put it on the check also. *If paying for more than (1) student, money will be evenly distributed unless otherwise noted or unless (1) student has a negative balance.

CHARGE Policy Cobb county school administration has adopted a LIMITED charge policy. If a student arrives at school without money, they are allowed up to $3.60 in charges at middle school. Charges are not allowed for ala carte or adult items. If your child arrives at school without money for lunch and has reached the charge limit, he/she will be provided an alternate meal (such as a peanut butter sandwich and milk, or a cheese sandwich and milk). To prevent your child from having to receive an alternate meal, please ensure that you send money for your student's meals each day, or prepay for the meals in advance. Charging for meals will not be allowed during the last two weeks of the school year. If you child arrives at school without money, the student will be provided the alternate meal for lunch.

 

RETURNED CHECK POLICY All checks deposited into cafeteria bank accounts that fail to clear the bank are returned to CCSD Financial Services. The amount of the check will be debited from the student/students account. CCSD Financial Services will send a letter to parents notifying them that there has been an NSF check and that their student(s) account has been debited for the amount of the check. If the lunchroom receives two NSF checks, they will no longer accept checks for the student and/or siblings.

Each month Cobb County  Food and Nutrition Services Department holds a nutrition-themed art contest to increase the awareness of nutrition and wellness topics.  Students of all grades may enter the contest and a grand prize winner will be awarded a GREAT prize and certificate that is signed by our school's Principal and the Executive Director of Food and Nutrition Services. Art Contest Rules 1.  Theme name must be included in the artwork. 2.  Art work must be submitted on a 8.5 X 11" paper. 3.  Students name, grade, school, and teacher (if appropriate) must be included on the back of the artwork. 4.  Turn in your art work prior to the “Date Due” to Ms. Bochert, the Cafeteria Manager, who will send in the top 3 entries from our school. 5.  Artwork and winner's name (first name only), grade and school will be posted on the Cobb County website for this school year.  (You may enter as many times as you like, but you may only win once per school year).
